Dra. Gemma Echeverria: Engineer agronomist (specialty: Phytotechnics) from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and Doctor of Agricultural Engineering from the University of Lleida. Researcher in high school of agri-food research and technology (IRTA) in Lleida since 1999 where develops her activity as a researcher in the Postharvest program of fruits and vegetables. His research is focused on determining sensory and instrumental quality in pre- and post-harvest of fruits and vegetables. For the past 15 years, he has focused his research on understanding of the trend and preference of fruit consumers, especially in apple and peach / nectarine. He has trained various sensory panels that have been used to characterize the organoleptic profiles of apple, pear, peach / nectarine varieties, oranges, mandarins and tomatoes subjected to different technologies conservation, thus acting as panel manager. He also has experience in assessment of taste by monitoring and analyzing the compounds that characterize them the taste and aroma of the different species mentioned. It has 98 articles scientists of which 58 are indexed in journals listed in the Science Citatio Index (SCI), 37 articles are horticultural acts and 3 are chapters of book. He has presented 85 papers at Congresses and directed or co-directed 4 doctoral theses.
