Jordi Riudavets
Entomologist with experience in research, development and transfer of Integrated Pest Control programs. In recent years he has participated in more than 120 publicly funded research projects (INIA, Ministry of Education and Science, EU) and research contracts with various private companies in the agri-food sector. The main fields of experience are biological control, biology and ecology of pests and their natural enemies, pest sampling, insect breeding and alternatives for pest control in horticultural crops and stored products. . He has participated in a total of more than 120 scientific and outreach publications, of which 50 are articles in SCI peer-reviewed scientific journals. He is vice president of the Spanish Society of Applied Entomology, and a member of the Methyl Bromide Technical Options Committee of the United Nations Environmental Program and the Controlled Atmospheres and Fumigation Organization. Since 2011 he has been a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Stored Products Research and since 2018 of the editorial board of Entomologia Generalis.
Jordi Luque
Jordi Luque has a degree (1986) and a PhD in Biological Sciences (1997) from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). A researcher in the Sustainable Plant Protection Program, his interest in research is directed at diseases of Mediterranean woody species caused by fungi. He initially devoted himself to the study of diseases of the trees of the genus Quercus (1992-2001), to later move to the vineyard (2002-present) and fruit trees (2012-present). In his research, he focuses his efforts on better understanding the biology and epidemiology of diseases, in order to optimize their control options. It emphasizes the development of control strategies that are respectful of the environment, the farmer and the consumer of agricultural products.
Lucía Adriana Escudero-Colomar
Lucía Adriana Escudero-Colomar holds a PhD in Agricultural Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Valencia. IRTA researcher since 2003. Her main lines of research focus on the knowledge of the biology and behavior of certain key pests and on the development of methods and / or strategies to control them, aimed at obtaining of fruit without pesticide residues.
In in the field of technology transfer, she is the co-author of a book on Phytoseiidae species associated with crops, a Fruit.Net Technical Guide for Apple Production and another Technical Guide on Halyomorpha halys. She is also the author or co-author of articles in the trade press on various pests and control methods.
María Teresa Martínez Ferrer
PhD in Agricultural Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain). Senior researcher at the Institute of Agri-Food Research and Technology (IRTA) of the Generalitat de Catalunya since 1991, mainly in the entomology of citrus and olive trees, within the Sustainable Plant Protection Program. My research work focuses on pest biology, ecology and seasonal dynamics, the development of sampling methods, the establishment of economic thresholds for intervention and the improvement of chemical, biological, cultural and pest control. I was an associate professor of Production Technologies II: Plant Protection at the International University of Catalonia (UIC) in the Degree in Horticulture and Gardening. I have participated in numerous research projects funded by national and international public funds and numerous contracts with private companies in the field of biological and integrated pest control for citrus and olive crops. Since its creation in 1994, I have played an active role in the Integrated Committee for the Production of Citrus Crops of Catalonia, to update the technical standards of citrus production. I am also the technical coordinator of the Citrus Committee of the Fruit.Net Program (Generalitat de Catalunya) for the optimization of the application of phytosanitary products and the reduction of waste on fruit. I joined the National Group of Pests of Subtropical and Citrus Crops from 1991 until the end of 2011. I am the current Convener of the Working Group Integrated Protection of Citrus Crops (2017) of the International Organization for Biological Control and Integrated (IOBC) - Western Palearctic Region Section. I have been a member of the EIP-AGRI Focus Group on Plagues and Diseases of the Olive Tree (2019-2020). I have participated in numerous national and international conferences and have extensive experience in knowledge transfer through training courses, seminars and workshops aimed at technicians and farmers. I have published more than 100 scientific and technical articles
