VIII Interactive day on plant protection

Sobre l'activitat

The interactive plant protection conference will be held online this year and will feature four presentations. In the first, we will talk about the ocher spot disease of the almond tree, a very widespread fungal disease in the country's plantations that we are beginning to know and control. We will continue with Grapholita, which is a key pest of the peach tree, but it also harms pip fruit trees. The incidence of plague in apples and pears in Girona has increased notably in the last decade. The biological studies carried out comparing the populations of Lleida and Girona show similarities and differences in their biology. We will also talk about the importance of mycorrhizae in soil health. A new project studies the interaction of mycorrhizal fungi and other microorganisms that are part of the microbiome with organic amendments of agricultural and livestock origin. Next we will present a video on the sustainable use of phytosanitary products in citrus fruits, on how to adjust the application machinery to reduce drift and achieve a safe and efficient application with the adjusted dose. Finally, we will talk about Tetranychus urticae in clementines and supermanagement through the management of the vegetal cover and the application of mineral oils and without using synthetic acaricides.
