Neil Duncan
Neil Duncan enjoys working in applied research in controlling fish reproduction and cultivation. Neil holds a bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology and Oceanography from Bangor University and a doctorate in Aquaculture from Stirling University. His main interest is in studies to produce the quality and quantity of heavy eggs needed for a commercial hatchery, ensuring that families are produced with the traits required for an improvement program. In addition, he has worked on improving larval rearing and juvenile growth. Neil has worked in Spain, Mexico and Scotland with a wide range of European and Latin American species.

Ignasi Gairín
I have a degree in veterinary medicine and since I was interested in aquaculture. I started knowing the freshwater fish sector: Trout. I had the opportunity to join marine aquaculture working in bivalve reproduction and in the fattening and fattening of different species of fish: sea bream, sea bass and llenguado. Later I spent a few years as a technical-commercial agent working in consulting, marketing and transport of sea bream, sea bass and corvina fingerlings throughout Spain. Currently I am dedicated to research on the reproduction and fattening of different species of bivalves at the IRTA center.
Karl B. Andree
His work focuses on topics related to fish and seafood health (pathology, nutrition, diagnostics). Karl holds a BSc in Biological Sciences from Aurora Illinois University (USA) and a PhD in Microbiology from the University of California, Davis (USA). In addition, he contributes to research on blooms of toxic marine microalgae. Within aquaculture, there is a lack of large areas of knowledge for the non-model species cultivated in aquaculture systems. Through the development and application of molecular techniques and microbiology, especially the development of DNA-based diagnostics for non-model organisms, we gain knowledge about the immune functions, metabolism and digestive physiology of aquaculture species and their pathogenic threats.
Enric Gisbert
Doctor in Biology from the University of Barcelona (Spain). Researcher specialized in fish biology and aquaculture (nutrition). My current position is Senior Researcher and Director of the IRTA Aquaculture Program. I have been working in aquaculture studies since 1999 when I obtained my doctorate, from there I have consolidated my experience and knowledge working in the USA (University of Davis, California) and France (Ifremer, Brest), while in 2004 I was recruited by IRTA. Since then, I have conducted research at the interface between academia and industry, especially in relation to nutritional studies in fish, in larval culture and fattening phases. At the scientific level I have published a total of 212 in magazines, seven book chapters. Coordinator of the CYTED LARVAplus Network.

PhD in Fisheries from the University of Kagoshima (Japan), with two post-doctoral stays at the University of Stirling (NERC Unit of Fish Nutrition) and Kyoto. At IRTA since 2000, focused mainly on larval culture of new species of fish, study of nutritional requirements, especially fatty acids, larvae and juveniles, and in recent years on the search for new ingredients for feed (flour of insects, by-products of the industry, etc). Member of the European Expert Group on Organic Production (EGTOP) since 2013.
Dolors Furones
Bachelor of Science, with a degree (microbiology), from the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB). She is currently a member of the committee IRTA biosafety. He promoted the creation and has been a member of the Acuiplus executive committee; He has been a member of the executive board of PTEPA. He is a member of the Spanish aquaculture society (SEA), which he has had the honor of presiding
As a researcher in the aquatic health group at IRTA, she works in epidemiology, biosecurity and in vivo models of fish and mollusk pathogens, mainly those related to Mediterranean aquaculture. He has participated in: 35 R + D + i projects (IP of 15), 20 contracts with companies (IP of 16), 60 publications, attendance / participation in 120 congresses, 1 patent. Recent major projects to highlight: H2020_VIVALDI (http://www.vivaldi-project.eu/) and H2020_MedAID (http://www.medaidh2020.eu/), in which it has been, IP_IRTA, work package leader and, in the case of MedAID, scientific coordinator,
