Dra. Pilar Plaza Portolés holds a degree in Agricultural Engineering (1994) and a PhD in Food Science and Technology (2003) from the University of Lleida.

Since 2003 he has been working at IRTA, in the Post-Harvest Technical Service, advising companies in the sector, especially fruit and vegetable seed, stone fruit and citrus, in all aspects related to the post-harvest stage, from parameters of conservation of the fruit in AC, ULO or DCA, treatments postcollita for the control of rots and physiopathies, the maintenance of the quality, parameters of quality of the fruit in function of his conservation and of the back commercialization, verification of the programs cleaning and disinfection, etc.

She has written more than 20 articles in international scientific journals and national outreach journals and has participated in numerous transfer days and outreach courses in the sector. She has also participated in several international scientific projects and contracts with companies.
