From the Genomics and Biotechnology Program of the IRTA Vegetal Area in the CRAG, we want to promote knowledge of plant genomics, dismantle myths and false beliefs and make known how genomics can accelerate the selection process of new plant varieties, as how to reinforce the rights of the breeder by allowing accurate, reproducible and rapid varietal identification.
Therefore, in this technical conference there will be a brief explanation of the applications of genomics to agriculture with examples of CRAG's collaboration with the agricultural sector. Then there will be a practical session, where you can see first-hand how genomic techniques are applied in the laboratory, as well as visit the facilities, the greenhouses and the scientific-technical services.
