Bernat Pérez
Dr. Bernat Pérez de Val is
degree in Biochemistry (2003) from the University of Barcelona and PhD in
Animal Medicine and Health from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (2013). Currently
is a researcher in the IRTA Animal Health Program. Since 2006
develops its research at CReSA (from 2015 IRTA-CReSA) focused on
tuberculosis control. He has participated in several competitive projects
state and European research as well as in research contracts with companies
from the biomedical sector or with other research institutes. He has published several
scientific articles in SCI-indexed journals, book chapters, and articles
of dissemination. He has also made several communications at conferences
scientists. He has participated in and organized continuing education courses and
transfer events aimed at industry professionals
agri-food and health. Since 2006 he has been involved in the commissions of
DARP services to IRTA-CReSA in research tasks, technical advice
and scientific, design and development of studies and analysis of outbreaks of
tuberculosis in domestic ruminants or wildlife. He has participated in
the development and monitoring of health programs such as the eradication program of
bovine tuberculosis in Catalonia (since 2006), the qualification plan for
goat herds against tuberculosis (since 2012) and the surveillance plan
health of the wildlife of Catalonia (since 2012).
Enric Vidal
Enric Vidal, DVM, PhD. (Barcelona 1977). Finished his veterinary science studies in the Autonomous University of Barcelona the year 2000 and read his doctoral thesis in the same faculty on the subject of BSE central nervous system pathogenesis in 2006. Since 2002 has been in charge of the PRIOCAT laboratory in IRTA-CReSA (Animal Health Research Centre) which is the animal prion disease reference laboratory of Catalonia. PRIOCAT performs the screening and confirmatory diagnosis of animal TSEs in Catalonia’s ruminant livestock and also develops a government financed research line on TSE neuropathology based on the study of field cases and murine transgenic models. Since 2007 manages the Slaughterhouse support service (SESC) commissioned by the Health Department of the Generalitat de Catalunya (www.cresa.cat/blogs/sesc). It is a support service to aid meat inspectors obtain a final diagnosis on slaughterhouse findings. He also participates in pathological diagnosis of Tuberculosis surveillance and eradication program
Alberto Allepuz
He has been a professor in the Department of Animal Health and Anatomy at the UAB since 2002 and his research has always focused on the application of epidemiological methods to improve animal health. He has experience in the field of risk assessment, biosafety, epidemiological surveillance and epidemiological studies. In the last 10 years he has led three national projects, participated in two European projects and led various contracts with national organizations (e.g. MAPA) and international organizations (e.g. FAO). He has published 48 articles in scientific journals, participated in various national and international conferences and directed six doctoral theses. He has participated in different courses nationally and internationally. In the veterinary degree, she participates in subjects on epidemiology and diseases of legal importance and coordinates two master's modules in Zoonosis and Una Salut taught at the UAB for postgraduate students.
Christian Gortázar Schmidt
Christian Gortázar has a degree in veterinary medicine and a doctorate from the University of Zaragoza. Between 1990 and 1997 he began his research activity as a freelance consultant and as head of R&D at the Ebronatura consulting firm. In 1999 he obtained a position as full professor at the Hunting Resources Research Institute (IREC – CSIC, UCLM, JCCM), being its director between 2004 and 2008. Since 2003 he has been responsible for the Animal Health Unit, currently the Research Group in Health and Biotechnology (SaBio).
His research activity combines ecology, veterinary science and biotechnology tools. This includes viral, bacterial and parasitic diseases with an emphasis on the control of shared problems between wildlife, domestic animals and man, such as tuberculosis or vector-borne infections.
He has been responsible for livestock and aquaculture at the National Agency for Evaluation and Prospective (ANEP) from 2006 to 2008, has chaired the European section of the Wildlife Disease Association (2012-2014), and is editor-in-chief of the European Journal of WildlifeResearch. Since 2015, he has participated in the Animal Health and Welfare Panel (AHAW) of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), where he currently coordinates the working group on African Swine Fever.
Maria Laura Boschiroli
Dr Maria Laura Boschiroli is Research Director, head of the Bovine Tuberculosis National Reference Laboratory- OIE Bovine Tuberculosis Reference Laboratory at Anses (French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety). Laura completed her B. Sc and PhD on molecular microbiology at the Facultad de Ciencias Exactas y Naturales, Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina. Her area of expertise includes molecular-genomic epidemiology, validation and introduction of new tests for the French diagnostic scheme for TB surveillance on livestock and wildlife, control of TB diagnostic reagents. She also provides advice to the World Organisation for Animal Health and the French authorities on the national TB control programme.

Albert Sanz
Albert Sanz Artigas graduated in veterinary medicine from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) in 2004. He worked as a clinical veterinarian in the pig sector first, then as a clinical veterinarian and performing reproductive management in the cattle sector for 4 years in two veterinary companies. at the same time as working as a veterinarian qualified by the Department of Climate Action, Food and Rural Agenda (DACC) within the official programs of bovine tuberculosis and bovine brucellosis. He also combined this work for two and a half years with work in the pig sector in a Health Defense Group. Since 2009, he has been working in the service of the administration of the Animal Health Prevention Service of the General Sub-Directorate of Livestock of the DACC, carrying out, among other tasks, the elaboration and monitoring of the official health programs of ruminants, especially livestock. cattle, and the coordination of the wildlife health surveillance program.
