Training course in the protocols of the WQ for Chickens, and Slaughter of Chickens

About the activity

The training of qualified auditors in the inspection of animal welfare according to the Welfare Quality protocols is an essential requirement to guarantee the quality of the certification.

The IRTA periodically organizes training and qualification courses for auditors in collaboration with the different experts of the Welfare Quality Network.

Tuesday, October 18
8.30 - 10.00 Introduction to Animal Welfare, Welfare Quality protocols and Welfair Certification.
10:00 a.m. - 10:15 a.m. Coffee break
10.15 - 13.00 Animal Welfare Measures on the farm.
1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Lunch
14.00 - 16.00 Animal Welfare Measures on the farm.
4:00 p.m. - 4:15 p.m. Coffee break
16.15 - 18.00 Animal Welfare Measures in the slaughterhouse.
Wednesday, October 19
9.00 - 11.00 Group 1. Practice on the farm and legislation (location and time will be confirmed later).
11:30 am - 1:30 pm Group 2. Practice on the farm and legislation (location and time will be confirmed later).
22.00 - 01.00 Group 1. Practice in slaughterhouse and legislation (30 min from Monells).
01.30 - 4.30 Group 2. Practice in slaughterhouse and legislation (30 min from Monells).
Thursday October 20
9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. – Comments and doubts about the practice, farm repeatability exercises.
11.00 - 11:15 a.m. – Coffee break
11.15 - 13.00 - Farm repeatability exercises.
1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. – Lunch
14:00 - 17:00 – Slaughterhouse repeatability exercises.
Friday 21 October
8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Practical exam on the farm (location and time will be confirmed later).
3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Theoretical exam and image repeatability exam.
Note: Note: the schedules may undergo slight variations depending on the needs of the students and the syllabus.
