Pest control in fruit trees: phenological models (2nd part)

About the activity

A model adjusted and validated to the conditions of the territory, is a fundamental tool to determine the best time to carry out interventions intended to control pests in the field.

The project "Updating and validating the phenological models of agricultural pests on the Ruralcat website" aims to update the pest models on the Agrometeorological Models web page of the RuralCat portal of the Generalitat de Catalunya.

At the conference we will talk about the need to do this update and validation for all pests, even if they are well-known pests, such as the carpocapsa. We will also discuss the adjustment achieved with the new model of grapholite in apple and the pests for which prediction models should be developed, taking into account the opinion of users in this regard.
