Implementation of BAT for emission control in manure management and treatment

About the activity

(GO IMECO)

The livestock and agriculture sector is very important in different parts of the country and is a fundamental part of the national but also European economy. The main obstacle to sustainable growth in the livestock sector is the management of manure (manure and manure), both in terms of the management of the nutrients they contain, and the emissions they generate during their management (generation, storage and application).

The IMECO project aims to demonstrate innovative techniques for mitigating GHG and NH3 emissions with a comprehensive view of the farm-scale slurry management system.

The project, through a case study approach, will perform a comparative analysis between a farm-scale management system where several BAT will be implemented consecutively, in the stages of storage and agricultural application; and a baseline scenario representing current conventional management.
