Antibiotics have been and will be a necessary tool for the treatment of infectious diseases in production animals. However, the emergence of resistant bacteria has highlighted the need to seek strategies to improve animal health by making responsible use of these compounds. On this day, we will present different studies carried out in the context of the IRTA strategic initiative to reduce the use of antimicrobials in different production species and we will have the opportunity to debate the needs and concerns of the sector regarding the problem of resistances.
