5th Fruit.Net Studies Conference

About the activity

Apple, pear, peach and citrus.

This 2021 marks the 10th anniversary of the birth of Fruit.Net, the Plant Health Program of Catalonia, which includes apple, pear, peach and citrus crops. The challenges that were initially faced on the optimization of plant protection products and the minimization of waste on the surface of the fruit, have been successfully met.
However, during these 10 years, our agriculture has received and is receiving impacts that limit its viability. Among other things, the effect of climate change, the presence of emerging diseases and the 2030 targets under the European ‘Green Deal’. This makes the Program more necessary than ever, and we must work harder to meet the new challenges.
Taking advantage of the tenth anniversary, a joint reflection has been carried out with all the actors involved in Fruit.Net; DACC, IRTA, universities and the sector, where the new objectives have been defined, in line with the new needs of the sector. We will talk about it on this day, as well as how they will deal with it. The latest highlights of apple, pear, peach and citrus will also be presented.

Finally, we take this opportunity to thank the dedication and involvement of all those who have participated in the Fruit.Net Program throughout its 10 years of existence. Making special mention of the technicians of the participating companies. And we encourage you all to support and remain committed to Fruit.Net, a key tool for tackling the agriculture of the future.
