Wellstun Day: slaughter of bass and trout

About the activity

Improving the slaughter process of farmed fish: indicators of welfare and product quality

The slaughter of aquaculture fish is still an issue to improve and optimize in the EU from an animal welfare point of view. In this project, we worked with trout and sea bass to improve pre-slaughter, emphasizing the fasting period and crowding density. The progress and results of the project in the identification of indicators of the state of consciousness in bass and trout will also be presented.

Call for aid for groups of entities that carry out investment projects in R&D&I, within the scope of national aquaculture plans, co-financed with the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF) and managed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.
