This Conference presents the current situation of the demonstration activity "Elaboration of a plan of varieties and soils of the cultivation of hazelnuts in Catalonia" (2020-2022), whose main objective is the elaboration of a map of hazelnut cultivation in Catalonia, with GIS (Geographic Information System) support. The information that is being generated, as a result of the study of data from the DUN (Single Agricultural Declaration), the ICGC (Cartographic and Geological Institute of Catalonia), the ACA (Catalan Water Agency) and the SMC (Meteorological Service of Catalonia), highlights the most suitable areas for the cultivation of hazelnuts: with the characteristics of the soils, water supplies (underground and surface) and the corresponding climatic data. All these data, together with the study of the adaptation of the main varieties of hazelnut in Catalonia, to different areas of cultivation, will provide us with very valuable information for the sector.
