Dr. Israel Muñoz is an industrial engineer (1998) and later obtained his doctorate (2002) in the field of artificial intelligence in both cases from the University of Girona. He has been a researcher at IRTA since 2003 and works within the Food Technology Program. His area of interest focuses on the study and improvement of production processes (thermal processing and drying) of the food industry, in particular, the improvement of the sustainability of these processes and the use of advanced techniques such as image analysis, artificial intelligence and advanced sensing techniques for quality control and production characterization. He has also worked on the application of simulation techniques for the study of different processes.
