On this day you will be able to visit the trials of alfalfa varieties and cereal intercropping with legumes implemented in the current irrigated campaign. The results obtained so far will also be announced. Alfalfa is the most important forage crop in our irrigated areas and a key piece in crop rotation. The cultivation technique of intercropping cereals with legumes can provide important advantages from the point of view of soil regeneration, achieving good yields by reducing inputs, expanding the benefits that rotations already provide and reducing nitrate pollution.
The activities that will be shown are carried out within the framework of the CROPDIVA Project activities (this project has received European funding within the Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under grant agreement nº 101000847) and GO ALfalsCAT operational group (Project financed through Operation 16.01.01 of Cooperation for innovation of the Rural Development Program of Catalonia 2014-2020).
