N\u00faria Busquets Mart\u00ed, holds a degree in Biology (2001) and a PhD in Molecular Microbiology (2005) from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Since 2006 she has been working as a researcher at IRTA-CReSA, focusing her study on zoonotic diseases. Since 2014, he has been in charge of the Arbovirus and vector arthropod research line, whose main objective is to study the virus-mosquito interaction in order to improve the surveillance and control of mosquito-borne zoonotic viruses. His scientific career is aimed at better understanding the key aspects of vector competition, both native mosquitoes and mosquitoes invading by various (re) -emergent arboviruses of great relevance to both human health and the dengue, zika or chikungunya virus. for zoonotic viruses of great importance in animal health such as the Rift Valley Fever virus and the West Nile virus, in order to better estimate the risk of introduction and transmission of these viruses. She is responsible, at IRTA-CReSA, for the West Nile virus surveillance and alert program as a service by the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food (DARP) and the mosquito virus surveillance program such as in service by the Department of Health. He finished his studies in Biology at the University of Barcelona and received his PhD in Biological Sciences from the Autonomous University of Madrid in 2002. His research focuses on the study of factors related to the transmission of pathogens by vectors in wildlife, with special attention to zoonoses (http:\/\/www.ebd.csic.es\/jordi). Your research has allowed you to understand how different ecological factors affect the transmission of West Nile virus by studying its transmission in the different species of mosquitoes and vertebrates that affect the role of the virus. He is the author of more than 250 publications in PRESTIGI international journals and has directed 9 doctoral theses. Eva Frontera (Badajoz, 1973) is a Full Professor in the area of \u200b\u200bParasitology in the Department of Animal Health of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Extremadura (UEX). She has a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the UEX, obtaining the national award for graduation in Veterinary Medicine in 1996. She received her doctorate in 2000 from the same university. He has 5 years of teaching and 3 years of research recognized by the CNEAI. Obr<\/p>\n\n She is the coordinator of the PARUEX research group, where several lines of research are developed (Trichinellosis, Leishmaniasis, ticks, swine parasitosis) leading the study of insects that carry vectors of diseases transmitted by them, especially culicids. His research is currently focused on the knowledge of the epidemiological situation of West Nile virus in areas of western Spain, especially in Extremadura, both in vectors and animal and human hosts. He has directed 4 doctoral theses and is currently directing another 2 in the final phase of completion.
\nIn the last 5 years she has been principal investigator of 2 competitive research projects and has also participated in 10 projects in collaboration with companies, mainly dedicated to the study of parasitic zoonoses.<\/p>\n\n She is the author of more than 100 publications in journals and numerous papers at conferences.
