The cultivation of rice is continuously subjected to environmental and socio-economic challenges where research, both basic and applied, plays a fundamental role in the continuous improvement of the sustainability of the crop in all three aspects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the course of the day, the latest technological advances will be presented, as well as new action proposals that should facilitate compliance with the European Green Pact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

M\u00aa del Mar Catal\u00e0 Forner, IRTA researcher and responsible for the rice activities carried out at the Ebro Experimental Station. She is a member of the rice sector board, has been appointed an expert in rice cultivation by the evaluation committee of the OEVV (Spanish Office of Plant Varieties) of MAGRAMA and is part of the advisory board of Ediciones LAV. He has developed tasks in plant health, improvement and management of the crop, with a clear agronomic aspect. He has participated in dozens of rice research projects in collaboration with other national and international research centers, both public and private. Responsible for transfer actions at both technical and sectoral levels through technical and field conferences, and has participated in national and international rice conferences as a guest speaker. Jos\u00e9 Miguel Campos Rivela is an Agricultural Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Valencia and holds a PhD in Agricultural Engineering from the Universitat Jaume I in Castell\u00f3n. Researcher in the Sustainable Plant Protection program since 2004 and Institutional Delegate of the IRTA since 2019. The main areas of work as a researcher belong to the integrated management of pests: bioecology of pest species and auxiliary entomofauna, implementation of methods of biological and biotechnical control and development of sampling methods and establishment of intervention economics thresholds. He is the co-author of 66 scientific and technical publications in the field of entomology, plant protection, biological control and integrated pest management, and has made 23 contributions to national conferences and 28 to international ones. He has been an associate professor of Crop Control in the degree in Horticulture and Gardening (International University of Catalonia (UIC). Member of the Spanish Society of Applied Entomology (SEEA), of the working group of \"Citrus-IPM\" IOBC (International Organization for Biological Control) and the Citrus Committee of the Fruit.Net program (Generalitat de Catalunya) Has participated in 13 R&D projects funded in public, national and international calls, all in the field of biological and integrated control of pests of citrus, fruit, rice and Mediterranean crops. It has also participated in 19 R&D contracts with companies or administrations (national and \/ or international related to these fields. PhD in Agricultural Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain). Senior researcher at the Institute of Agri-Food Research and Technology (IRTA) of the Generalitat de Catalunya since 1991, mainly in the entomology of citrus and olive trees, within the Sustainable Plant Protection Program. My research work focuses on pest biology, ecology and seasonal dynamics, the development of sampling methods, the establishment of economic thresholds for intervention and the improvement of chemical, biological, cultural and pest control. I was an associate professor of Production Technologies II: Plant Protection at the International University of Catalonia (UIC) in the Degree in Horticulture and Gardening. I have participated in numerous research projects funded by national and international public funds and numerous contracts with private companies in the field of biological and integrated pest control for citrus and olive crops. Since its creation in 1994, I have played an active role in the Integrated Committee for the Production of Citrus Crops of Catalonia, to update the technical standards of citrus production. I am also the technical coordinator of the Citrus Committee of the Fruit.Net Program (Generalitat de Catalunya) for the optimization of the application of phytosanitary products and the reduction of waste on fruit. I joined the National Group of Pests of Subtropical and Citrus Crops from 1991 until the end of 2011. I am the current Convener of the Working Group Integrated Protection of Citrus Crops (2017) of the International Organization for Biological Control and Integrated (IOBC) - Western Palearctic Region Section. I have been a member of the EIP-AGRI Focus Group on Plagues and Diseases of the Olive Tree (2019-2020). I have participated in numerous national and international conferences and have extensive experience in knowledge transfer through training courses, seminars and workshops aimed at technicians and farmers.
