Horta.Net is a project promoted by DARP and coordinated by IRTA that aims to develop sustainable production systems related to improving protection against pests, diseases and weeds and streamlining the supply of water and fertilizers.
This program establishes a framework of collaboration between the DARP, IRTA, Universities, ADVs, productive sector and companies providing products and services. The results of various studies carried out within the framework of this program will be presented at this conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entomologist with experience in research, development and transfer of Integrated Pest Control programs. In recent years he has participated in more than 120 publicly funded research projects (INIA, Ministry of Education and Science, EU) and research contracts with various private companies in the agri-food sector. The main fields of experience are biological control, biology and ecology of pests and their natural enemies, pest sampling, insect breeding and alternatives for pest control in horticultural crops and stored products. . He has participated in a total of more than 120 scientific and outreach publications, of which 50 are articles in SCI peer-reviewed scientific journals. He is vice president of the Spanish Society of Applied Entomology, and a member of the Methyl Bromide Technical Options Committee of the United Nations Environmental Program and the Controlled Atmospheres and Fumigation Organization. Judit Arn\u00f3 holds a degree in Agricultural Engineering (1984) and is an Agricultural Engineer (1990) from the Universitat Polit\u00e8cnica de Catalunya, and holds a PhD in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Lleida (1997). He has been working at IRTA as an entomologist since 1991, currently in the Sustainable Plant Protection Program.<\/p>\n\n

Its activity has focused on the development and implementation of Integrated Pest Control Programs based on the use of biological control in orchard, greenhouse and open air crops, as well as in fruit trees. He has worked in the study of parasitoids and predators in Mediterranean agricultural ecosystems and in the development of strategies to promote their conservation and improve the biological control of pests. Throughout his career he has studied the possibilities of using biological control for the management of various invasive pests.<\/p>\n\n

She has published more than 100 scientific and technical articles, 31 of which are included in the Science Citation Index. He has participated in numerous scientific conferences, technical conferences and transfer conferences.
