XX International course on meat products technology

The IRTA International Course on Meat Products Technology is a consolidated course in the sector, focused on the modernization and industrialization of the meat industry.

The course offers an exhaustive review of all aspects related to the technology and quality of meat and meat products: obtaining the raw material, processing, packaging, processing technologies and industrial trends.

Prices without VAT
Partially subsidized course by the FUNDAE.
The prices include lunches on school days and daily transport from Girona to the IRTA of Monells for those who previously request it.

Way to pay:
Payments will be made by bank transfer to the current account that will be provided at the time of registration confirmation.

Cancellation:
For registration cancellations after 10/07/2022, a cancellation fee of 50% of the registration value will be charged. The organization reserves the right to cancel the course at any time prior to 11/07/2022. In case of cancellation of the course, the organization will return the registration fee.

Optimization of the beef maturation system

Dry ripening offers a very good opportunity to gastronomically enhance beef.

The GO-MADURACIÓ operational group has made it possible to optimize the process for producing matured meat, proposing improvements in performance between the different participating companies.
The day aims to explain the protocols that have been defined in the project, from the initial selection of the animals to the control and completion of the maturation process.

The day will end with a tasting of dry ripened meat obtained following the protocols optimized in the operating group.

Innovation for the sustainability of clam farming on the Mediterranean coast

In this day will present the results of the project “Phytogels and salinized earth: innovation for the sustainability of the crop of clam in the
Mediterranean coast (FITOGEL) ”. In this project the IRTA and the CSIC have worked together with the collaboration of the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition through the Pleamar program co-financed by the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (FEMP).

Current threats in plant health for fruit growers: tools to deal with them

IX edition of the Plant Protection Day

This year, the Plant Protection Day that drives IRTA's Sustainable Plant Protection Program will be held in Lleida at the new facilities that have just been completed thanks to the "PECT, Agrobiofood" project and other funding from IRTA, dedicated exclusively in Plant Health to help promote research and advice in the sector.

Three papers will be presented on the challenges posed by some of the invasive and emerging pests and diseases that are of most concern to the fruit sector and the advances for their prevention, and a paper to present the new Plant Health Hub of Catalonia. To complete the day, there will be a guided tour of the new plant pathology and applied entomology laboratories, including the NBS3 biocontainment module, the first laboratory of this type in Catalonia to work with organisms considered to be quarantined in the EU, such as Xylella fastidiosa among others, in conditions of maximum biosecurity. The PECT Agrobiofood project is financed by the OP FEDER de Catalunya 2014-2020.
